The Vascular Implementation Network is part of NHS Wales. We help people in Wales who may develop, or already have, vascular diseases. These are problems with the blood vessels, such as arteries and veins. They can cause serious conditions, including stroke, leg ulcers, gangrene, and even sudden death if a large artery bursts because of an aneurysm.
We work with doctors, hospitals, and local communities to make sure care is safe, fast, and fair for everyone. Our work also supports the Welsh Government’s health plans, including new advice on how to treat vascular disease, stroke, and heart problems.
NHS Wales is made up of seven local health boards and three NHS trusts. Each board is responsible for planning and delivering healthcare in its area.
