Brain Health Resources

Our brains are brilliant.

Our brain helps us with many important things:

  • It stores our memories
  • It makes our thoughts and imagination
  • It helps us feel emotions, like happy or sad
  • It helps us understand what we see, hear, smell, taste and touch
  • It helps our body work, like breathing and moving

Keeping our brain healthy is important. It helps us feel well now, and as we get older.

These accessible resources were made with people with a learning disability, for people with a learning disability. They teach you simple ways to look after your brain.

The resources focus on five ways to help improve your brain health:

  • Staying connected
  • Sleeping well
  • Eating well
  • Moving more
  • Trying something new

You can learn about these five areas by watching the videos or reading the easy‑read guide.

You can then make your own brain health plan, with goals in each of the five areas.

You can take your brain health plan to your Annual Health Check with your GP.
