NHS Wales Awards

Welcome to the NHS Wales Awards page

Entries for the 2026 NHS Wales Awards are now open.

The NHS Wales Awards celebrate excellence in driving improvements and transforming services.

Back for 2026, the awards continue to showcase teams driving improvements in quality, safety and performance to transform services, experiences and outcomes for people in Wales.

This is your opportunity to shine a spotlight on your achievements and gain recognition for your hard work and commitment.

Enter the awards to:

  • share your success,
  • raise the profile of your work,
  • spread your learning and improvements,
  • be part of a community of learning and improvement across Wales.

The NHS Wales Awards 2026 features 13 categories, aligned with the Duty of Quality and Health and Care Quality Standards 2023 including the introduction of a brand new category: the NHS Wales Consistent High Quality Performance Award which recognises teams who can demonstrate sustained excellence, continually meeting Duty of Quality standards to deliver high‑quality care. The Outstanding Contribution to Healthcare Improvement Award will be presented to one of the category winners.

For the first time ever, all colleagues across NHS Wales can get involved.

Shortlisted teams will be asked to provide a poster showcasing their project, and colleagues across NHS Wales will be invited to vote for the category winners. Further details can be found in the Entry Guide

Entries close at 5:00pm on Monday 15 June 2026 and finalists will be announced and voting will open in July.

All shortlisted teams will be invited to an evening awards ceremony in Cardiff in November, where the winners will be announced. Further details about the ceremony will be provided soon.
