Guide to living well with Type 2 diabetes

A new diagnosis of type 2 diabetes can feel overwhelming. The Point of Diagnosis Packs have been developed for this very reason - to support people at this important moment, helping turn diagnosis into clear, practical next steps.

The patient guide; Living Well With Type 2 Diabetes, covers what usually happens after diagnosis, what to do first, common questions, remission, essential health checks, medicines, food, movement, blood glucose monitoring, emotional wellbeing and trusted support routes.

Developed with clinicians and people living with diabetes

These resources have been co-designed with people living with type 2 diabetes, Diabetes UK and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals ensuring the packs are clinically relevant and grounded in the real experiences of people receiving a new diagnosis.

Supporting you from day one

The packs are designed to help empower you with the information and support you need to be able to manage diabetes from day one. They encourage small, achievable first steps such as booking essential checks, understanding medicines, accessing diabetes education, making one food change, and choosing one realistic movement goal. The aim is to help you build confidence and avoid overwhelming you at diagnosis.
