Prevent C. diff Protect Patients

Prevent C. diff is a staff‑facing campaign with real patient and family stories to remind us of how important infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship is in helping to keep patients safe.

Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) can cause serious harm and have a lasting effect on people’s lives. The actions we take every day make a difference to patients.

Please note that these campaign materials are intended for health care professionals.

Patient and family stories

These short videos share the lived experience of people affected by C. diff. They are designed to be used in meetings with NHS Wales colleagues, including team meetings, training, inductions and huddles.

An easy way to share the patient and family videos in meetings with colleagues is to download the slides by clicking on the ‘PowerPoint slides’ link below. This is a short slide deck with links to the videos.

Posters, screensavers and email signatures can then be used to reinforce the messages and keep the patient stories front of mind after colleagues have watched the videos.
