The Wales Primary Care Cancer Framework (WPCCF) is a network of primary care clinicians from across Wales involved with cancer care. The group was established to recognise existing work and give the opportunity to share best practice through collaboration, reduce duplication of work and drive improvements in cancer care across the whole patient pathway.
The WPCCF has now been recognised as a Cancer Site Group (CSG) by the Cancer Network. This will formalise the work that has already been done in integrating a primary care voice in the development of clinical pathways. This will also complement the role of primary care in existing cancer site groups.
The new Primary Care CSG would be delighted to hear from anyone with an interest in primary care and cancer who might wish to join the CSG. Our aim is to develop a multidisciplinary group to benefit from a variety of viewpoints across a range of primary care roles. The CSG has an interest in education events for primary care including topics related to cancer care.
