Learning Materials for Young People

This page brings together learning materials developed by the Women’s Health Network, co-designed with young people and health professionals, to raise awareness and support conversations about periods (also known as menstrual health), endometriosis and wider women’s health with young people aged 11–16.

They are designed to be used by:

  • Young people
  • Schools, school nurses and wellbeing/pastoral teams
  • Parents and carers

All materials signpost to trusted NHS Wales information.

Purpose of the learning materials

We want to help:

  • Support age-appropriate understanding of women's health
  • Normalise conversations and reduce stigma
  • Encourage young people to learn about women's health and to seek help if needed
  • Signpost to trusted NHS information

These resources are intended to support learning and discussion and do not replace professional medical advice.

How to use the learning materials

The learning materials are available as posters, leaflets and business cards, which can be viewed online (digital) or printed for use in schools, community spaces and at home.
