The Specialised Adult Endocrinology service specification was developed by a task and finish group, including clinical representation from across Wales, as well as other key stakeholders involved in the delivery of these services.
The aim of the service specification is to define the essential requirements and standard of care that services are required to meet in order to deliver Specialised Adult Endocrinology services to people resident in Wales.
The development included a period of consultation with key stakeholders and was subsequently approved in principle in February 2023 by the NHS Wales Health Collaborative Executive Group.
