I have prediabetes

Prediabetes (sometimes called 'borderline diabetes') means glucose levels in blood are raised and will probably develop into Type 2 Diabetes. There are things that you can do to lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Many people have no symptoms, which is why it’s often found through blood tests.

These tests help check whether you are at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the future. You can learn more about what makes you at risk of diabetes and how you can lower your risk by watching the video below.

If a blood test shows you have prediabetes, you may be invited to attend an appointment with your health care team who will help you set goals to reduce your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. This is part of the All Wales Diabetes Prevention Programme.

Let’s Prevent is an online programme for people with prediabetes that helps you learn about preventing diabetes, set goals, and 'Ask the Expert'.
