The national Dementia Care Programme, part of NHS Wales Performance and Improvement, will be holding its inaugural Dementia Care Research Conference online on 6 November 2025. Interested parties are invited to submit research abstracts which demonstrate improvement and collaboration within dementia care.
The conference will offer the opportunity to spotlight pioneering research across dementia care with a focus on four core themes:
The research should showcase impact, innovation, and relevance of the work within these categories. Whether leading research from a community initiative, academic study, or organisational project, this is an opportunity to raise the profile of these contributions on a national stage.
Ian Dovaston, Improvement Manager, NHS Wales Performance and Improvement, said: “This landmark event marks a significant stride forward in championing dementia care innovation and promoting collaboration and learning amongst researchers, practitioners, service users, and policy influencers across Wales and beyond.
“The conference will provide a celebration of collective effort, insight and impact in dementia care.”
Abstracts should be 200–300 words, clearly outlining the aim, findings, outcomes, recommendations, and the application of research to practice. Submissions can be made in English or Welsh, and multiple entries are welcomed but each must be entered under one theme.
Successful contributors will be invited to present their work during the conference. Those not selected for oral presentations can still participate by submitting a poster, with winners and runners-up voted for by conference attendees.
Entries must be submitted by 5PM, Friday 12 September 2025 by visiting: Dementia Care Research Conference | 6 November 2025
