19 November 2025
Following the announcement of finalists in July, the NHS Wales Awards 2025 winners were revealed on Tuesday 18 November 2025 at a special celebration event in Cardiff. The awards recognise the achievements of teams across Wales who are driving improvements in health and care.
13 awards were presented including a special Outstanding Contribution to Healthcare Improvement Award, selected from the 12 winning entries.
This year’s event took on a fresh look, focusing not only on celebration but also on learning and collaboration. Finalists took part in a poster marketplace and lightning talks, proudly showcasing their work and sharing insights with colleagues from across NHS Wales. These activities provided a platform for staff to connect, learn, and exchange ideas for spreading and scaling improvement across Wales.
Reflecting on the event, Dominique Bird, Interim National Director of Quality, Safety and Improvement, said:
“In a time of ongoing challenges across the health and care system, the projects highlighted are a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through tenacity, teamwork, and a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes. They demonstrate the creativity, compassion, and determination of NHS colleagues working to make a real difference for the people of Wales.
Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists. Every one of these projects represents an NHS success story that can truly inspire others.”
A special thank you this year’s sponsor, Life Sciences Hub Wales for their support.
