Ensure the four aspects of your Quality Management System (QMS) are well connected and function cyclically and dynamically. This is what ultimately gives a QMS its systemic character.
Increasing interconnection across your existing quality work in the four aspects is a good place to start and will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your quality management. A QMS provides opportunities to better align and potentially reduce existing activities across the four aspects.
The four aspects of a QMS have equal weighting. Part of their interconnectivity is that they will receive different levels of emphasis at different times. For example, attention may initially focus on improvement but once performance is enhanced, the system moves into quality control to maintain that performance.
